Re-certification
Vision of ASK-CPK
The CPK certification began in Korea in 2000, and to date, over 5,000 CPK certificate holders are serving as members of the Korea Association of Certified Exercise Professionals (KACEP). In 2009, the Korean Academy of Kinesiology (KAK) established an academic foundation for CPK and strengthened professionalism for CPK. In 2010, they began holding the Northeast Asia Conference on Kinesiology in cooperation with neighbouring countries and played a leading role in establishing the Asian Society of Kinesiology (ASK) in 2016.
ASK now aims to assist kinesiology-related societies in Asian countries by introducing the Professional Kinesiologist Qualification System (PKQS) and nurturing CPKs in cooperation with universities to establish their associations in their countries. Furthermore, we hope that many papers submitted by CPKs from Asian countries will be published in the Asian Journal of Kinesiology (AJK), and the number of abstracts presented by CPKs from each country at the annual Asia Conference on Kinesiology (ACK) will increase.
It is expected that those who have CPK certificates could evolve into a variety of specialists with in-depth knowledge and skills for health and longevity. This will ultimately lead to the development of PKQS into a globally accepted CPK standard.
