We would like to propose the vision of the Asian Society of Kinesiology (ASK).
Human movement is essential for human survival and quality of life. The importance of kinesiology and the role of kinesiologist will be more defined in the future. We would research and develop the specialty of kinesiology and the education program for the kinesiologist through the ASK, with the desire that the kinesiologist will be used internationally as an expert in the field of kinesiology. The Kinesiologist will play a role in a certain level of socio-economic status in various fields: health, education, sport, industry, and so on. We are going to integrate various certification programs in the world and be of help to cultivate capable kinesiologists in each country through the Asian format qualification system. We believe that our students, who have verified ability through the new type of qualification developed by the ASK, will be more successful in the job market, which would be expanding in Asia. With these expectation and anticipation the ASK will be administering the following:
The Editorial Board for the official journal of the Asian Society of Kinesiology:
This commission for editing and publishing ‘KINESIOLOGY’, the official journal of the Asian Society of Kinesiology, will consist of world-renowned scholars who will strive to make multilateral efforts to establish the reputation of the journal as an international journal as soon as possible.
The council of ‘KINESIOLOGIST’ qualification:
The ASK is going to research and develop the ‘KINESIOLOGIST’ qualification system with the goal of cultivating competent professionals that can contribute to the enhancement of human health, ability and quality of life. The council will develop educational programs in universities and extend the Asian style of the kinsiologists certification program to help search for job opportunities and business start-up cases related to kinesiology.
The committee of Sports Medicine:
The committee will work together with medical personnel to verify the effect of exercise, sports and other physical activities as a form of medicine and increase its value to enhance the health of human beings. Furthermore, the committee will try to establish a collaborative system with medical a team for the prevention of injuries and the rehabilitation in sport, health/fitness, working environment and so on.
The Task-Force of kinesiology convergence:
For the purpose of promoting human movement related to convergence research & development and the prosperity of sport industry, the ASK will perform a mediating role to increase exchange & cooperation with various areas, as well as increase the exchange of information among countries. This task-force will lead the way in the policy exchange among countries and will seek to develop future-oriented policies to promote suitable physical activities for a greater number of people.
