ACK2019 in Chengdu, China
On August the 8th -11th, 2019 the 10th ACK opened in Qingshuihe
Campus of UESTC. The topic of this conference is Maximizing Human
Performance through Kinesiology. About 156 participants from ten countries attended this conference. In order to achieve this success, we appreciate all the enthusiasm, support, and cooperation from many people. This conference focus on physiology and
biochemistry, exercise rehabilitation, nutrition in sport, and also sports
psychology. Experts and researchers from home and abroad attend this
conference. We aim at developing the kinesiology, contributing human¡¯s health
and improving the quality of life.
On Day one, the conference began with an opening ceremony in the Qiushi Hall, a part of the library in
Qingshuihe Campus, UESTC. The president of ACK2019 LOC,
Prof. Shen Xiaorong, and the president of ASK, Prof. Oak Jung Sok gave an
opening speech. During the ceremony, LOC leaders gave certificate and souvenirs
to the keynote and also the symposium speakers.
After the ceremony, the first keynote lecture began. One of the keynote
speakers Dr. Hoffman, from ACU gave a lecture about Signaling Networks and
Energy-Sensing Mechanisms at the Intersection of Nutrition and Metabolism. He
said that sport is very important for regulating energy metabolism. It may be
the most hopeful way to cure adiposis and type 2 diabetic. He gave an argument from
several perspectives including cell biology, animal physiology, human nutrition
intervention, etc. And another exciting outcome is a new mechanism between sport
signals and energy metabolism sensing. In addition, he also mentioned that the
interrelation between glycogen and AMPK gives a solution to improving human¡¯s
metabolism and slowing down the speed of aging through targeted sports and
nutritional intervention.
Then continued with the highlighted symposium from 3 Chinese
researchers. They gave a presentation about the importance of doing sports and
how policies, environment and professional knowledge influence people doing
exercise.
The next highlighted symposium is from 4 researchers from South
Korea. They presented the differences of atoms of exercise intervention and
reaction of the whole body between animals and human.
All of the participants were active to be involved in the
conference. They asked questions, discussed with each other to share knowledge
and opinions.
In the afternoon, oral presentation happened in A-108, A-109,
A-111 in Pinxue Building. In the YIA session, researchers showed their advanced
outcomes and gave wonderful presentations. Everyone gave their best
presentation.
The second day began with a keynote speech from Prof. Hung Tsung-Min
from PE Dept. of Taiwan Normal Univ. He gave a lecture about The Cognitively
Demanding Physical Activities and Executive Functions.
Then continued with the highlighted symposium from 4 researchers
from Australia. They presented the exciting new findings of the molecular
mechanisms of well-known key regulators of whole-body metabolism – CaMKK2 and
mTOR/AMPK, and also showed how CaMKK2 is directly activated by cellular lipid
and energy metabolism while mTORC1 directly inhibits AMPK by attenuating
lysosomal targeting.
Then participants put up their poster with their new interesting
research in the Quishi Hall and had some discussion with each other. Poster
presentation continued with the final presentation of YIA and UPA Oral
presentation. 3 persons who enter the final of YIA presented their abstract and
the winner of the YIA and UPA were decided by the judges.
Then continued with the last highlighted symposium from 3
researchers from Japan. They gave a presentation about tackling injury prevention
in collision sports. They also introduced the present investigation, described
the future issues in cervical injury prevention, provided the factors
associated with the concussion caused by tackling in Japanese collegiate rugby
union players and the consideration for the prevention of concussion that
occurs to tacklers.
Last but not least, ending the conference, the closing ceremony began
with giving awards to the YIA and UPA winner.
