A New Chapter of Global Consensus in Kinesiology
and Sport Science-2025 WCKSS in Jeju Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
 I am Dr. Peiji Chen, President of ASK, from Shanghai University of Sport.
It is my pleasure to inform you that our society will hosting the 2025 World Congress of Kinesiology and Sport Science (WCKSS), taking place October 25–27, 2025, in beautiful International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju), Korea.
This congress will serve as a significant platform for scholars, educators, researchers, professionals, and students from diverse fields related to kinesiology and sport science to come together, exchange knowledge and ideas, and build a collaborative framework aimed at establishing a unified global nomenclature for the discipline. The congress is already garnering great interest within the academic community.
We sincerely encourage all members of our society to actively participate in this meaningful and historic academic gathering. The 2025 WCKSS will feature two key events:
- Scientific Conference: Oral & Poster Abstract Submission
The 15th International Conference on Kinesiology and Sport Science will feature keynote presentations and discussions by invited speakers, as well as active academic exchange through free paper sessions and networking opportunities. The conference aims to provide a platform for revisiting and reexamining the conceptual foundations and structure of our discipline by exploring shared principles and diverse approaches within the fields of kinesiology and sport science.
- KaSS Forum 2025: The 1st Forum on Kinesiology & Sport Science, 2025
Our field currently lacks a universally accepted academic nomenclature. While Kinesiology and Sport Science have emerged as leading contenders, evolving from the foundations of physical education, their prominence is primarily concentrated in the United States (Kinesiology) and Europe (Sport Science). To catalyze global discourse on this critical issue, the Asian Society of Kinesiology (ASK), in collaboration with the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) and the European College of Sport Science (ECSS), propose the inauguration of the world’s first Forum on Kinesiology and Sport Science (KaSS Forum) in conjunction with the 15th International Conference on Kinesiology and Sport Science in 2025. The inaugural KaSS Forum 2025 will focus on the global naming and definition of the discipline. It will also unveil the establishment plan for the Federation of International Society of Sport, Physical Activity, and Kinesiology (FISSPAK), aimed at strengthening global academic cohesion and collaboration.
